25-06-2010 - 2010 EUROPEAN MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIPS – MAASTRICHT, HOLLAND


 

The 2010 European Men’s and Mixed Pairs Bodybuilding Championships are over. 121 bodybuilders and 5 mixed pairs representing 35 countries were flexing their muscles in the compulsory poses and posing routines performed on the stage of the MECC Exhibition Center in Maastricht. Medals and titles were distributed in 13 categories and two overall classes. Ukrainian national team won the previous championships in Novi Sad, Serbia, but this time Slovakian national team was unstoppable: their athletes won 5 gold medals (double win in three categories!) and having 136 points dominated the Best Teams’ classification, ahead of Poland (77 points) and Czech Republic (54 points).

Slovak well-known bodybuilder, former world champion Stefan Havlik won the title champion of the champions, as he was best athlete at these Championships. His team-mate Tomas Tabaciar won the same title in classic bodybuilding. The mixed pairs title went to the Ukrainian couple: Vadym Vasylevskiy - Tetyana Mikheychyk.

 

Former Ms. Olympia Juliette Bergmann, who currently holds the position of the Dutch Federation President and was a promoter of these Championships was honored with the IFBB President’s Gold Medal.
